The East African derby between Uganda and Tanzania is set to resume today at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The first leg ended 1-0 in favor of the Tanzanians in the game Uganda hosted at the Suez Canal Authority stadium in Egypt.
The loss left Uganda bottom of Group F with just one point from 3 games.
And the pressure has now mounted on Serbian coach to deliver or else he gets axed.
With a press conference called by FUFA president Eng Moses Magogo. Micho knows clearly that today’s result will determine his future as head coach of the Uganda Cranes.
With 3 games remaining in the group stages, it’s a do or die for the Cranes if qualification is to be earned.
The Serbian is however optimistic that his side will get the job done.
He’s sure that the team has put last week’s result behind them and is fully focused on today’s game.
‘One detail can take you to hell and the other can take you to heaven and that is what happened in the last match. We now have chance for redemption in this game and we are coming here to fight for maximum points.’ He said.
“I have full trust in the players and they know how crucial this game is and are hoping for positive results.” He added.
Speaking ahead of this game, Emma Okwi said that despite the majority of the Taifa Stars players being his friends, it will be a real battle.
A battle for either teams to make their nations proud.
“I have always had love from the people of Tanana. Many of the players have been my teammates or opponents when I played here. The friendship will always stay but during the game, we will all be fighting to make our countries proud.” He said.
