Micho trims Uganda Cranes squad to 30- surprise names dropped

Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Sredojevic popularly known as Micho yesterday trimmed the Uganda Cranes squad from the initial 37 to 30.

Among the dropped names was former URA forward Cromwell Rwothomio who now plays for VipersSC.

The other players that saw themselves cut among the dropped 7 are
Grant Matsiko, Arthur Kiggundu, Filbert Obenchan, Bright Vuni, Muhammed Ssenoga Kagawa and Hussein Ssenoga.

There will be further disappointments tomorrow as Micho will drop a further 5 to remain with the permanent squad of 25.

The Cranes squad is then set to travel to Tunisia on Sunday 1st 2023.

While there, they will partake in three warm up games.

It’s from here that they will fly to Algeria where the tournament is set to begin on the 13th of January.

The Cranes are pitted in Group B alongside DR Congo, Ivory Coast and Senegal.

They will get their campaign underway on the 19th of January against DR Congo at the Stadium Annaba.
