We don’t regret selling Zinchenko and Jesus to Arsenal -Pep Guardiola says ahead of Arsenal clash

April 26, 2023

Manchester City‘s coach Pep Guardiola has revealed that his club has no regrets selling two of their players, Oleksandr Zinczenko and Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal.

The Gunners have turned out to be the Citizens biggest title contenders in the ongoing 2022-23 season. Guardiola says that decisions were made deemed good for the club.

Besides the players also wanted to leave. And the most important thing is that the payers are happy where they are and the Manchester City is also happy from there position.

‘Zinchenko and Jesus sold to Arsenal? The club made the decisions they believe. Everyone agreed. Players wanted to leave, the club wanted to sell, and the club wanted to buy…”.

The former Barcelona coach also revealed that he won’t be with Dutch defender Nathan Ake for the top of the table clash today. The former Bournemouth player suffered a hamstring injury in the Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

“Nathan Aké won’t be available vs Arsenal. Hopefully he can come back soon.” “Back vs Real Madrid? I don’t know… We will find the right player to do it, I don’t have doubts. We’ll play with 11”.

The two sides battling for the league crown are set to go head to head today at the Etihad stadium. And each side knows what is at stake. Arsenal who last won the title with the Invincibles in 2004 are looking for their first league title in 19 years.

Guardiola on the other side will be looking to win a treble. His side are already in the FA Cup final where they will take on local rivals Manchester United.

They are also the favorites to win this season’s UEFA Champions League title. They take on record winners Real Madrid in the semifinals. The Gunners are 5 points above Manchester City but have played two games more.

Mikel Arteta‘s side have drawn all their last 3 games. A win will put them in pole position to win the title while a loss will crush what has been an impressive season.
